Nominees for the 54th Annual Grammy Awards Announced

Yesterday evening, nominations for the 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards® were announced by The Recording Academy® during a special televised broadcast, The GRAMMY® Nominations Concert Live!! — Countdown To Music's Biggest Night.

Nominations in 78 categories reflected a considerable range of talent that represents myriad musical tastes.

The following are the nominees for the Best Children’s Album with links to each recording.

Congratulations to all the nominees, and am delighted to say that two earlier posted favorites were acknowledged. In case you missed those reviews they have been republished below.

The 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards will be held on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012, at Staples Center in Los Angeles and be broadcast live on CBS from 8 – 11:30 p.m. (ET/PT).

FITNESS ROCK AND ROLL - AMY OTEY


Singer/songwriter Amy Otey, might easily be dubbed the ‘First Lady of Musical Fitness,’ with her newest CD release, Fitness Rock and Roll.

She has performed at such varied venues as the Kimmel Center to the White House for the Easter Egg Roll.

Otey, who is an official advocate of the President’s Challenge Program, has dedicated this fifth album release to helping children become fit by embracing a healthier active lifestyle. Her award-winning body of musical work and her background as a physical fitness educator has placed her in a unique position to get kids engaged and moving with music.

ALL ABOUT BULLIES BIG AND SMALL - VARIOUS ARTISTS


Steve Pullara, a Grammy nominated Producer and Parents’ Choice and NAPPA Awards- Winner, has created a one-of-a-kind recording that effectively tackles head-on, the difficult topic of bullying in the album,  All About Bullies… Big and Small.

Pullara, who not only served as Producer and Supervising Creative Director for this recording, is also part of the performance line-up. In the creation of All About Bullies, Pullara assembled one of the most diverse and recognized teams of recording artists and producers in the music industry. The contributing credits for this album read like a “Who’s Who”, and the end result and combined creativity is a recording that not only entertains but fosters parent/child communication about a difficult topic.
